WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCBI) -They may seem like unlikely partners but they say they are a perfect fit for incorporating drones into our daily lives.

MSU President Mark Keenum and congressional delegations from Mississippi, North Dakota and Alaska met today about the next steps in a new consortium headed by MSU.

The group will start work this fall on developing new systems for allowing unmanned aerial vehicles to work in the nation’s airspace safely. It also will work on everything from privacy issues to how new technology and information can be shared among the military, private and commercial sectors.
