Video: MUW Alumna Elizabeth Gwin Dies at 105

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A cherished Mississippi University for Women alumna and tireless worker for Girl Scouts in the area has died.

Elizabeth Gwin passed away Tuesday at her home in Starkville. She was 105 years old.

Gwin grew up in Columbus and graduated from The W.

She is well known in this area for being instrumental in the founding of camp Tik-a-Witha in Chickasaw County. She worked with the Girl Scouts organization for more than 40 years.

Services for Gwin are being handled by Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
