LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Shannon man is behind bars, charged with the sale of methamphetamine.

29-year-old Legary Springer was arrested Friday by North Mississippi Narcotics Unit agents.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says Legary was the focus of an undercover investigation and agents were able to make several drug buys from Legary.

Johnson said the case shows the advantages of the narcotics unit and how it works with local law enforcement.

“And by us pooling these resources together, I can tell you on this particular case here, it was four different locations within municipalities or counties that this individual was selling or distributing, and by us being under the umbrella of this one unit we was able to take this particular case,” Johnson said.

Legary is charged with the possession of meth with intent to distribute, the sale of methamphetamine and sale of a counterfeit substance. His bond was set at $50,000 dollars.
