ABERDEEN, MISS. (WCBI) –  The last week in September marks the celebration of National Employ Older Workers Week.

It’s time to recognize the vital role older workers play in the workforce.

The week raises awareness of the particular labor segment of those 55 years and older.

Experience Works hosted a lunch for employees who have workers in their program.

The program helps low income seniors getting job training they need to find a good job in their community.

” They continue to give back into the work force and even within their communities. They have a lot of skills, they have a lot of abilities that can add to the growing work force that we have today, ” said Mangle Shanks, with Experience Works.

The mission of Experience Works is to improve the lives of older people through training, community service and employment.
