NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) -Authorities say they aren’t ruling anything out in the deaths of an elderly New Albany couple, however, the initial investigation does not show anything suspicious. Sunday afternoon, police were asked to check on Carroll and Patricia Mason. The couple hadn’t been heard or seen in several days and neighbors were concerned.

Officers found 78 year old Carroll, and his 77 year old wife, Patricia, deceased inside their home at 701 East Shady Acres. Their bodies have been sent to Jackson for an autopsy and police say there were no signs of forced entry, or robbery inside the home.

“There’s nothing I’ve seen, after viewing the bodies and the scene that would indicate or scream out to me that this was a home invasion, or a robbery gone bad, anything like that. We have not ruled it out, but we’re looking at all possible angles.”

Chief Robertson says it appears the couple had been dead for several days. Autopsy results are expected to be in later this week.
