AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – A popular Amory attraction is open once again and under new ownership.

Tupelo businessman, Andy Graft, bought River Birch Golf Club just two weeks ago, and it will now be named ACKIA Golf Club.

The course closed  last year and Graft bought it from Renasant Bank.

It has now opened back up for members to play but crews are working hard to repair and restore the greens.

Upon purchasing the club, Graft gave all the former employees their jobs back and they say they are excited to open back up and serve the area once again.

“The golfing community in Amory is super excited about Mr. Graft buying the place. There was a lot of worry about someone else buying it and not keeping it a golf course, ” said the grounds superintendent, Andy Willingham.

“It’s one of the prettiest sites in the community and it really adds a lot of character to the town,” said ACKIA General Manager, Bill Abney.

ACKIA will accept new members beginning on April 1st.
Dues are $130 per person.
