MACON, Miss. (WCBI) -Christmas will be merry and bright for a Noxubee County family, thanks to the kindness of two brothers committed to service.

Constable Lucious Mason, who also serves as Macon police chief, along with his brother, a Navy officer, adopted two little boys who lost their mother earlier this year.

Since then, the 2 and 4-year-old have been in the care of their father and stepmother.

When the Mason brothers heard their story, they knew they had to help. So they bought toys, clothes, and other necessities to put under the Christmas tree.

“I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart and it is a blessing that you all thought about my children to give this to them and I want to tell you all Merry Christmas.
In our house, me and my brother were raised to always think of others and that’s what led us to our careers. My brother serves the country and I serve the public.”

The Mason brothers plan to help a family in need every year.
