STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-OCH Regional Medical Center will plead its case Tuesday night (1-15-13) to Starkville aldermen. OCH Administrator Richard Hilton will ask alderman to reconsider their decision to cut out $30,000 of the $40,000 the city originally committed to fund the ambulance service run by the hospital. When they voted two weeks ago, aldermen said the ambulance service was capable of making money and the city could better use its money elsewhere, especially since city taxpayers were helping fund the county-owned hospital’s expansion. But Hilton says the ambulance service loses as much as $300,000 dollars a year and that the county or ambulance users will have to make up the city money.
