STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Planning for end-of-life care isn’t an easy reality to face.
However, a seminar at Oktibbeha County Hospital Regional Medical Center is trying to help spark the conversation.
The hospital presented Five Wishes, which is an easy-to-use living will that lets adults plan how they want to be cared for in the event they become seriously ill.
“I was inspired to give this talk as I was watching CBS Sunday Morning a few months ago, and it was about this same topic in a small town in Wisconsin — Lacross, Wisconsin,” Dr. Cameron Huxford with Gentiva Hospice said. “And this town set a goal of 100 percent, but they did achieve 96 percent of their citizens having advanced directives.”
Today’s seminar was sponsored by Gentiva Hospice.
