OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Oktibbeha County Supervisors plan on meeting with the Oktibbeha County Hospital board of trustees to discuss the future of the hospital.

Board of supervisors president Orlando Trainer says it’s all about doing whatever is best for the county.

“I think it’s obvious to everyone that we have limited resources and that’s one of the things that keep you from accessing and reaching your full potential,” says Trainer.

In Oktibbeha County reaching their full potential means the future of Oktibbeha County Hospital could be changing.

“When we first started this particular process some people thought it was all about sell the hospital, sell the hospital and it is not even about that. It’s about positioning our county for us to reach our full potential within healthcare under any arrangement that may be,” says Trainer.

Board of supervisors president Orlando Trainer says it’s a subject that needs to be sorted out to continue providing the best quality of life for their residents.

“Health care impacts economic development, economic development impacts, community development, community development impacts education,” says Trainer.
