Video: Okolona Elementary Students Have a Real “Field” Day

OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI) -Testing is finished and school is almost out. so for some Okolona students are letting the good times roll.

Okolona Elementary School partnered with Mississippi Minority Farmers Alliance for a field day.

Students participated in a number of games and activities on their playground.

It was also a lesson in Mississippi agriculture. They even learned how to milk a cow.

” We’re basically trying to change the perception of farming in the minority community we’re trying to start young then hopefully we’ll have more young African – American students who will go into the agriculture industry. ”
Students who go to school on the weekend were put in a drawing for a new bike. The winners were presented during the field day program.
