Video: Oktibbeha County Family Loses Home to Fire

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A family home is gone but a family pet is saved following an afternoon fire in Oktibbeha County. The fire broke out just before one this afternoon at 209 Lucy Faye Lane. Firefighters from Bell Schoolhouse and the Adaton/Self creek departments discovered that a propane tank near the home had caught fire and set the residence on fire as well. The burning tank had also trapped a dog in a nearby kennel but firemen were able to break in and rescue the dog. The animal suffered some small burns but is expected to recover. The home is a total loss.
