STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Students from East and West Oktibbeha High Schools got a chance to tour their future academic home today. Consolidation of the county and Starkville city school districts slated for this Fall means that students from those schools will be attending Starkville High.

Over 30 future Yellowjackets explored the the range of Arts and Technology offerings that will be available to them next school year. More importantly, they got to meet future classmates and instructors.

SHS Assist. Principle, Sean McDonnall said, “It’s been just an excellent turnout, and an excellent opportunity and experience, because we have never gone through anything like this before. But this is kind of easing those tensions; getting those students ready to come over next year.”

Starkville has already opened up Junior ROTC and Vocational Classes to students from East and West Oktibbeha.
