PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – An old building may be getting a new life in Pontotoc. And it could prove to be a “WIN – win” for all involved. Pontotoc aldermen have approved a measure that would allow them to partner with the city school district, Three Rivers Planning and Development District, and Itawamba Community College to renovate the old Carpenter Ford Dealership.

The building would become the new location for the city’s WIN Job Center.

The current facility has outgrown its headquarters. The city would sell that building to finance the renovations. The Carpenter building has more space, and is more centrally located.

The city is seeking a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to help cover costs. They should know if they’ve been approved by October.
