Video: Outlaw Hosts Turkey Giveaway in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Hundreds of Starkville families will have a turkey on the table for Christmas thanks to a hometown hero.

NBA player Travis Outlaw hosted a turkey giveaway this morning at the Starkville Sportsplex.

600 turkeys were given away on a first come first serve basis, and people began lining up before 8 a.m. this morning.

“Us older people need to learn from this — that when we go professional … if it’s NFL, NBA, you need to give back to the community, and it’s a blessing,” Lisa Outlaw said.

Outlaw last played for the New York Knicks.

This is the second year for his turkey drive.
