WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — The Yokohama Mississippi construction project is starting to take shape.

And it’s a much anticipated project to job seekers across the area.

Construction on the plant’s elevated water tank has progressed significantly since beginning late last year. Calvert-Spradling Engineers President Robert Calvert said the tank should be completed by early August of this year.

The 4-phase construction of the actual plant site is making headway, too. Calvert said good progress has been made, but is unsure of a solid completion date. Initial estimates set a October 2015 completion date for Phase 1.

The good news goes on with the 4-mile long Yokohama Boulevard road project. Officials say paving on the eastern portion of the road will commence Thursday, and should be on time for the December 31 completion date.
