TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lee County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team and the North Mississippi Narcotics unit executed a search warrant which resulted in the seizure of 20 grams of crack cocaine. Henry Betts of the Palmetto community is now being charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute. During the search, authorities estimate the street value of the drugs to be worth two thousand dollars. Sheriff Jim Johnson says recent arrests can be traced back to Betts.

” We had actually witnessed and watched crack cocaine being distributed out of this particular residence by this individual. There’s been several arrests made prior to this of crack cocaine, we can link it to this place being the one that was distributing it so the timing was right.”

Betts’ bond is set at two hundred thousand dollars.
