Aberdeen, MS (WCBI) – A 911 recording, recounting a deadly shooting, is played for jurors Wednesday, as testimony begins in the second murder trial of former college professor, David Parvin.

The 76-year-old took notes as witnesses took the stand this afternoon in Monroe County Circuit Court. Chief Deputy Curtis Knight was the first witness. He recalled what the scene looked like when he arrived Oct. 15, 2007.

Knight told jurors that Parvin gave him different accounts on what he tripped over before the shotgun blast hit his wife, Joyce Parvin. Betty Witt was the second witness. She told jurors about her extramarital affair with David Parvin.

The courtroom listened when the conversation between Parvin and dispatchers was played in the courtroom.

“You said that it was an accident with a gun? With a shotgun, yeah. And who shot her? I did, she was shot right through the chest.”

The trial is expected to last through the first of next week.
