COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) Columbus police and Skate Zone teamed up Sunday afternoon to help raise money for a sick officer.

Officer Kelvin Lee was diagnosed with stomach cancer about 3 months ago. Friends and volunteers offered residents a chance to skate, buy a t-shirt and just have fun all for a good cause. Officer Lee was also a security guard at Skate zone. Volunteers say this is the least they can do for someone who does so much for the city of Columbus.

“He is a wonderful person, he’s a hard-working man..a family man, wife and kids. He gives a lot to his community and it’s just one way to come back and give to him, says Volunteer Natasha Coleman-Brown

If you were not able to attend the fundraiser, all proceeds can go to any Cadence Bank. Just deposit the money into the Kelvin Lee Benefit fund.
