LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-A Potts Camp man may be the first in the region to fight back against enticement of a minor charges. 24 year-old Bradley Gilmore is one of more than a dozen men snared in an online investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department in the last year. The men are charged with using the Internet and cell phones to entice a 15-year-old girl, who actually was a deputy, into sexual encounters. But Gilmore claims he was entrapped by the deputies. Senior U.S. District Judge Neal Biggers agreed the claims are ‘viable’ and granted Gilmore time to prepare a defense showing he has no propensity for such crimes. His attorney says witnesses will testify the allegations are highly out of character for Gilmore. A federal court trial date will be set within 60 days.
