Video: “Purple Up for Veterans”

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. – (WCBI)A movement to increase education about veterans in the community continued Monday evening in Oktibbeha County.

“Purple up for Military Families” program was held at West Oktibbeha High School.

The Controllers Generation II of the 4-H Club teamed up with the G.V. Sonny Montgomery Center for America’s Veterans to educate the public about the different military branches, the duties they serve, and the roles they play once they returned to their communities.

Representatives from the U.S. Armed forces set up stations, and included items for show and tell.

This is the second year for this educational event.
