EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) – Residents are coming together to remember a fallen police officer, who they say made the ultimate sacrifice to keep them safe.

On Sunday, many people from Eupora and surrounding communities packed First Baptist Church to honor Eupora police officer Keith Crenshaw, who was killed in the line of duty last week.

Crenshaw, who was just 52 years old, was a church member there.

Those who knew him say he was a great man, and a hero.

“I really hate what happened to him,” said Eupora alderman James Shaw, Jr. “I feel for the family. He was a great officer. I used to see him just about every morning to eat breakfast with him, and you just couldn’t ask for anybody any better.”

Crenshaw has been buried at New Haven Cemetery in Choctaw County.
