COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – When you put pink and walking together in October you know there’s a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. That’s exactly what took place this morning at the Columbus River Walk.

The Columbus Lowndes County Chapter of the Links Incorporation put on the walk to focus on breast cancer prevention. Dozens of supporters came out for the few mile trek.
“Oh, so much. I see people pass away, not realizing that this is going in their body. It’s a silent killer because I never felt any pain. I always was, it always was just…there it is ya know, so that’s the reason I say, go get checked. Don’t wait to feel it,”
One of the leading causes of death in women is breast cancer. The Links wants to encourage women to get mammograms and to do self examinations.
