LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — When it comes to disasters like tornadoes, kids are most vulnerable.

Save the Children has been working in Mississippi for more than 80 years. Partnering with the Red Cross, and with the local extension service, they are making sure shelters are a safe place for children as tornado relief efforts continue.

“Distributing essentials material for children and families like pack and play cribs. Baby wipes, brand new clothing for children. We are also partnering with state officials to make sure that any gapes for children are met. And to support children’s emotional recovery long term,” said Jeanne-Aimee DeMarrais/Save The Children.

Save The Children is helping in the relocation of daycare centers destroyed by the tornado and providing classroom materials. To find out how you can help call 203-919-2219 or email: JDeMarrais@savethechildren.org.
