STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- The battle for Starkville Ward 2 still isn’t over. City leaders and Election Commissioners will convene at 10:15 a.m. Friday. An observer from the Secretary of State’s office will be in Starkville at 11a.m. to oversee the affidavit ballots for the alderman seat. 8 of affidavit ballots have been challenged by Incumbent Sistrunk. Sistrunk and Lisa Wynn are running for the seat. City leaders say they want to make sure they check each ballot accurately. “The race is so close and certainly we have two very passionate candidates and we want to ensure, and I should say motivated as well, that we come to the right answer for both them and the citizens of Starkville,” said Starkville City Clerk Taylor Adams.
