BOONEVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) – Members of the Booneville Rotary Club got a progress report on a number of issues facing lawmakers on Capitol Hill .

Senator Roger Wicker was guest speaker at the club’s luncheon.  The Republican Senator told Rotarians he will vote in favor of a resolution of disapproval for the recent nuclear deal the Obama Administration brokered with Iran.

Also,  Senator Wicker said there should be better quality health care available for veterans once a new law takes effect.

” I think  once we get the veterans a choice, I think the situation may start to improve. If we can implement the choice that veterans have under the new law, I think there will be more of an incentive for VA hospitals to be more consumer friendly,” said Sen. Wicker.

Wicker is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and says he will not endorse a presidential candidate.  However, he says the debates will give the public a good idea of who can handle the duties and pressures of the Presidency.
