AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – Seniors and Veterans were honored during a special event in Amory. Legacy Hospice hosted its third annual “Senior Day” at Frisco Park. There were a variety of businesses on hand, such as hospice agencies, medical companies, assisted living centers and other businesses.

There was also food and music. Organizers say it’s a way to honor seniors and veterans and provide helpful information and resources.

“This is just a recognition to honor our seniors, our veterans and all the people in the community who have kind of put us here and where we are at, and we are here to serve them and we want to let the community know that.”

Special recognition was given to the two oldest seniors. Ninety nine year old Beatrice Tubb was named “Senior Day Queen” and 91 year old Anderson Collins was named “Senior Day King.”
