WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Denominational and cultural lines disappeared as Christians from various church congregations came together Friday at Mt. Hermon M. B. Church of West Point, celebrating the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

Seven Pastors from 7 churches gave their presentation on the significance of Jesus’ last words while he was dying on a cross of execution.

Given the challenges of the faith in modern society, one clergy member suggests that the words…”It Is Finished” is significantly important.

“He didn’t say he was finished, but he said it is finished. Which means he had completed his work here on earth,” said Rev. Quincy Patterson, Pastor.

“Usually he saves the best for last and gave us instructions on that we might apply those, very important,” said Rev. James Towery, Calvary Baptist Church.

According to the Christian faith, the finished work of Christ must include the resurrection.
