TUPELO, Miss. – (WCBI) He sold millions of records and now the family of singer songwriter Glen Campbell is trying to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s.

Special showings of a documentary titled “I’ll Be Me” were held at Tupelo’s Malco Theaters. The documentary chronicles Glen Campbell’s final tour several years ago, as Alzheimer’s was beginning to take its toll.

The showing was sponsored by several groups, such as Methodist Senior Services, The Mind Center and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Campbell’s wife took part in a panel discussion and says the family is passionate about the movie and its message.

“I hope people who come see this film will realize, that if you get a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s you don’t have to, quit doing what you love to do and you should keep doing what you love to do, that’s what Glen did, and surround yourself with people you love and you need a support team around you,” says Kim Campbell.

“I’ll Be Me” is screening in theaters throughout the state over the next week.
