STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Students and parents with Starkville-Oktibbeha County schools will have to wait a little bit longer to see what will happen with their superintendent.

The school board took “no action” at its special meeting, Monday, related to Dr. Lewis Holloway’s arrest.

Holloway was arrested last Monday for allegedly firing a handgun into the air during an argument.

President Eddie Myles says the board spent most of their time, Monday, talking about the evidence related to Holloway’s case.

Myles says they hope to make a final decision next Monday on Holloway’s future with the school district.

“We want to make sure this process is done fairly, and done right,” Myles said. “I can only speak of Eddie’s feelings. I think we have a good guy in position right now, and hopefully with the evidence that our attorney has been bringing forth, we wish all that.”

Holloway has been on paid administrative leave since his arrest.

Monday’s meeting will be at 5 p.m. at the Greensboro Center.
