Video: Starkville Police DARE Camp

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)–For the next 5 weeks The Starkville Police Department in conjunction with Reed Place Subdivision and the Boys & Girls Club are hosting their first Dare Camp.

Starkville area youth have something positive to do over the summer.

Around a dozen area kids are getting the 101 on the dangers of choosing drugs, alcohol, and a life of violence through bullying.

“We did a mini camp at Reed Place last week. We hope to expand the program and start doing more schools and more clubs around town,” said CPL Mandy Wilson/Starkville Police Department.

The Dare Camp is part of Chief Frank Nichols’ push for community policing in Starkville.
