Video: State Department of Education Official Checking Out Columbus’ Innovations

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –

The Chief Academic Officer for the Mississippi Department of Education gets a look at some of the innovations Columbus teachers are using in classroom.

Dr. Kim Benton visited elementary schools Friday.

From technology to one on one time, teachers are using unique methods to make sure their students are learning.

“In classrooms where great things are happening and students are highly engaged in the right level of rigorous work, we can share that with other elementary schools in the state.”

Benton is second in charge to State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright.
