Video: Steel Dynamics Moving Forward with Planned Expansion

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County Supervisors sign off on the latest expansion at Steel Dynamics. The Golden Triangle Development Linkpresented the proposal to the board at their meeting Wednesday.  Boaard members granted a fee-in-lieu agreement.

The new line at S-D-I is a positive sign for the company and the county.

“This expansion is about 40 jobs, but remember the steel mill is at about $80,000.00 average jobs. So, 40 new jobs are what they are committing to do for the paint-shop, but, again, an STI job is about an $80,000.00  job.”

Work is expected to begin in August.
