COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -It’s one of the highlights of the Tennessee Williams Tribute Week – a re-creation of one of the most famous scenes from Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire”.

Columbus’ Katherine Munson channels her “inner Kim Hunter” as participants perform their Best Brandos.

Joey Barnes is joining us live from the “Stella Shouting” Contest…Joey…

This is a classic scene… Stanley Kowalski calling out to his love Stella.
Except this annual recreation takes place in downtown in Columbus  during the Tennessee Williams Tribute.
Guys register for free and Then shout.
But they also have a chance to win prizes. Judges are up on the balcony…they are looking for originality and a lot of emotion.
The tribute continues this weekend… A Street car five k run will be in the morning. Also…the famous play… “The Glass Menagerie” will be performed tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30 in Whitfield Hall on the MUW campus.
Aundrea…we’ll keep shouting out here and send it back to you in the studio.

This year’s winner is Richard Jensen.
