Video: Storms Leave Damage in North Mississippi

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Storms sweeping through North Mississippi Monday afternoon leave behind damage and power outages throughout the area.

In Winston County, trees covered the road and telephone poles were ripped from the ground.

East Mississippi Electric Power Association crews from Winston and Kemper Counties came together to clean up the mess.

Winston County emergency management directors say they’ll contact the National Weather Service to see if a tornado touched down in the area.

19 counties throughout the state had reports of storm damage Monday.
