COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-With the new school year rapidly approaching, some students will have to adjust to their new high school lifestyle.

One group is looking to give them some help.

Contact helpline visited Columbus High School for their back to school bash today. They gave incoming students school supplies and backpacks..

The group provides an anonymous outlet for students to reach out about any stresses in their lives..

Some team leaders say the program is helpful to students who need some outside advice…

“From my own experience with high school, sometimes it’s great to have that outlet that you can call, that will be non-judgmental,” said Dwight Dowdy,Team Leader. “Sometimes you may not feel comfortable going to your parent, or to a teacher or to a peer.”

This year the group is promoting their Suicide Crisis Line. That number is 1-800-273-8255.
