Video: Sulligent Elementary Receives Care Package

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WCBI) — Sulligent Elementary School got some help today from a good neighbor.

A crew from NACCO Materials Handling Group stopped by to make a special materials delivery.

Employees chipped in to buy much needed supplies for the students and the school. Many of the workers at NACCO live in Sulligent and Lamar County, and recognize the importance of the school.

“Well, we are excited at NACOO Materials Handling Group,” NACCO Plant Manager Jon Riley said. “We realized that the success of the community, and success of the plant are tied together. Whenever we can reach out to the local schools to help educate our youth, that’s something we love to do.”

“Anytime we can get supplies donated it helps our students who can’t afford supplies,” Sulligent Elementary Principal Tommy Chism said. “It helps our teachers not to have to go into their own pockets.”

This is the first year the company has held the drive.
