LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -School is out for the summer but learning certainly does not stop for students in Winston County.

It’s hands-on skills. The partnership between the Mississippi State Department of Education and Louisville Municipal School District targets students from pre-K through fourth grade.

The Dreams program focuses on important subject areas including math, science, literature, P.E. and the arts.

Educators say its all about making sure students have an enriched learning experience.

“My teacher has taught me about the wood ducks and the drake ducks. She has taught me about science. She has taught me about the books and the main menus and what the book is about.”

“We’re just excited and the kids are having fun and they are enjoying themselves. They go to P.E., they go to music, they go to art everyday. So lots of different activities going on and they are having fun.”

The free program is currently at capacity with 200 students from both public and private schools.

This is the second year for the Dreams program.
