NORTH MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – The hum of 13-year cicadas has spread from New Albany and Carrolton and points in between may be annoying.

But for outdoor enthusiasts, there can be benefits.

Brood 23 as this year’s hatch is called, could mean good catches for catfish fishermen. The fish love to feed on the bugs in the morning, evening and night.

And the bugs hatch at about the same time as young turkeys, which find them tasty.
