BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI)–What was used as a movie theater for nearly 70 years will soon become a lodge for the community.

The old Bruce movie theater located on Main Street is undergoing renovations to get ready for the summer.

According to Bruce Alderwoman, Ellen Shaw, the facility will be used for music festivals, free family movie night and will host a summer reading program for the library.

“We’re so excited that the library wanted to use it that it will be an opportunity for everyone not only children but adults,” says Ellen Shaw.

The theater has been closed since 2005. However, the facility is expected to re-open June 5th.
