COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Thousands of Northeast Mississippians spent Tuesday casting their ballots.

For most of the day, crowds slowly but steadily made their way to the voting machines.

Voters we spoke to say the heated campaign between Cochran and McDaniel did make them pay attention to the race.

“It made be, for sure know exactly when the primary was, but other than that, I always vote, so I would come to vote no matter what anyway. It’s my duty,” said Columbus resident Paul Mack.

There were also very little complains about voter ID changes in the system.
