Video: Tornado not the Only Severe Weather Story in Monroe County; Flooding a Problem too

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Severe storms weren’t the only danger Monday. As much as six inches of rain fell in less than four hours in parts of Monroe County. That pushed drainage systems to the limit and flooded streets in and around Amory, making for unusual opportunities for intrepid kayakers.

Some homes were flooded in Becker and other areas around Amory. Forecasters warned people in low-lying areas to beware of flooding along creeks and streams, especially with more rain in the forecast.
