TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Thanks to Toyota, a Tupelo family will have a new home this spring.

On Saturday, volunteers from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi, Inc. lifted a wall in place for the home made in conjunction with Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity.

Even though Toyota has supported several Habitat projects since 2011, this is the first home where Toyota is funding 100 percent of the construction.

Keith Allen says it’s part of Toyota’s Mission.

“Toyota’s mission and vision is respect for people and being a good corporate citizen,” Allen said. “So it is our intention to help work in the community and improve the community in which we work live and play.”

Allen, who is also on the board of Habitat for Humanity, says the project will completed in 10 weeks.

Habitat will begin the process of determining who will get the house once it’s completed.
