TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — The Tupelo Police Department has charged two men in connection with a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning at Hillsdale Apartments.

18-year-old Tiuntae Dixon and 32-year-old Jeremy Merideth are now behind bars as a result of an argument that allegedly led to shots being fired at the complex.

The victim is still in the hospital listed in critical condition.

The two men are charged with aggravated assault.

“It means that we have two violent people off the street, so people can sleep safer at night knowing that these people are off the street,” Tupelo Police Department Detective Steven Wade said.

Their bonds are both set at $1 million dollars.
