Video: Tupelo City Council Selects New Officers

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – An historic era came to an end at Monday’s Tupelo City Council meeting. Nettie Davis was recognized for her service as council president the past year. She was the first African American, and the first woman to serve that post.

Mike Bryan was elected as President for the 2014-2015 year. Buddy Palmer was elected vice-president. The last city council decided to change the rules to have one-year rotations in order for everyone to have the chance to serve in the leadership.
