Video: Tupelo High School Celebrates Black History Month

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Students at Tupelo High School took time out of their day to focus on Black History.

“We Have A Voice” was the theme of the annual Black History program at THS.

The program featured a message from Mayor Jason Shelton, music and poetry.

“It’s important for young kids to incorporate black history , programs because it lets everyone know that people in this city are inclusive and we are trying to
prevent and less racial hatred that we can in this area.”

The “Mayor’s Outreach Task Force” helped organize the event.
