TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A new car tag is unveiled for a local charity that fights breast cancer. This morning, members of the North Mississippi Komen Foundation gathered at the Lee County Courthouse to unveil the organization’s newly designed car tag.

Komen has had a Mississippi specialty tag for several years, but the new design features bolder colors, and lots of pink. Proceeds will go to North Mississippi and Central Mississippi Komen affiliates.

“It helps those affiliates provide grants to provide screening mammograms for under-served women, a portion of what’s raised does go to research through Komen headquarters and all of our research partners so it’s a huge benefit to these affiliates,” said Elizabet Dawson of NMS Komen Foundation.

The tag will be available January 1st. It will cost $31.00 extra for the tag.
