TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It is knowledge that could mean the matter of life or death.

That is why North Mississippi Medical Center in conjunction with Tupelo Safe Splash offered basic CPR classes, Saturday, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Wellness Center.

Among the techniques they learned was adults hands-only CPR, and child CPR with breaths, and adult and child AED use.

Instructor Kim Wright says this knowledge can make a real difference during an emergency.

“We see frequent patients that come in that don’t have CPR started in the emergency room when folks come in,” Wright said. “And this way if you’re able to teach somebody how to do it they can start it at home before the first responders arrive.”

Wright says if anyone is interested in taking CPR classes you can contact her at North Mississippi Medical Center.

She says NMMC tries to offer these classes every six months.
