TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Summer is just around the corner and the City of Tupelo is looking for some teenagers who want to earn valuable work experience.
Thursday afternoon, city leaders held a class on interview skills as part of the “Plant A Seed” program. Each year, that program allows youth to work in various city departments.

The seminar gave applicants information on how to qualify for one of 35 summer jobs available through the initiative and how to be prepared to land one of the positions.

“What type of forms you would need to have for employment, how to be on time for your position, how to dress for an interview, what would be expected in different positions if you’re selected as an applicant.”

Young people are recommended by their school or church for the Plant A Seed program. The teenagers start work in June and it wraps up at the end of July.
