TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at Tupelo High School gathered Wednesday morning before classes to pray for their campus, the city, state and nation.

The annual “See You At The Pole” event took place Wednesday around the nation and students throughout Northeast Mississippi led times of worship and prayer at their schools.

The theme for this year is “United” and those students who took part say they are encouraged by the strong turnout.

“I just think that prayer is so important to a Christian’s life and I believe we need God at this school and it all starts with leaders here at our school.”

“You come here and you see, I’m not alone, you see that other people are here trying to minister, praying over the school and nation just like you are.”

Many churches are hosting area wide youth rallies this evening for their Wednesday night services.
